Our common dream
For so many in the world, the "American Dream" is not simply the promise of a happy, prosperous life, but rather so much more: a haven for creativity, a role model of fairness and encouragement, and (most memorably), a land that all its citizens can call their "homeland" regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or other social background.
Now that we are at University College London (UCL), a British and global university that fundamentally shares and implements many of these ideals, it is our honor to aid the collective interests of US students at UCL, build up person-to-person interactions with UCL's partnered universities in the US and the US diaspora in London, and encourage all at UCL to explore the triumphs and struggles of (US) American culture, society, and politics.
So, whether you're here for the life-changing realizations, eclectic events, or just to taste some American holidays and anniversaries: relax. UCL American Society will always be your welcoming and supportive home, a cultural base for a lifetime and beyond. And you don't even have to be American to be and feel included!

What we offer
We have ambitious plans for this year and beyond, with fun events such as:
- Socials (including discussions/informal chats of American (US) politics and culture)
- Holiday Gatherings and American Events (Thanksgiving, Halloween, et cetera)
We also have educational gatherings ahead, including:
- Knowledge Trips (embassy (not necessarily/only of the US), museum, and cultural site visits)
- Career Events (for careers in the US, UK, and elsewhere)
- Voter Registration Events (for US citizens/nationals in US elections they are eligible for)
- Events with lecturers, other professionals, and/or members of the local/global American (US) diaspora
